Kim So-Hyun

kimsohyunKim So-hyun, (born June 4, 1999), is a South Korean actress, host, singer and model.[1] She began her career as a child actress when she was seven years old, and initially rose to fame in 2012 for playing a villainous young queen-to-be in period drama Moon Embracing the Sun, and a girl who falls into tragedy in 2013 melodrama Missing You.[2][3][4][5][6][7] Other notable series include black comedy The Suspicious Housekeeper (2013), mystery thriller Reset (2014), and teen drama Who Are You: School 2015.

Kim was born in Australia on June 4, 1999. Her family moved to South Korea in 2003.[1] Her father died when she was nine years old.

Kim began her acting career in the 2006 Drama City special titled Ten Minute Minor. She also starred in the movie Man of Vendettaas Joo Hye-rin, a child who was kidnapped. Man of Vendetta was commercially successful.

Her rise to popularity started when she starred in the 2012 fantasy-period drama Moon Embracing the Sun as the young version of the second female lead, young Yoon Bo-kyung. She also had a role in the fantasy-comedy drama Rooftop Prince, playing young Hong Se-na/young Crown Princess Hwa-yong. At the end of the year, she starred in the melodrama Missing You as young Lee So-yeon, which reunited her with her Moon Embracing the Sun co-star, Yeo Jin Goo. Kim acted as a victim of bullying at school, targeted because her father was a murderer.[12]

Kim continued to star in dramas Iris II: New Generation, The Secret of Birth, I Can Hear Your Voice, The Suspicious Housekeeper,Triangle, Reset, drama special We All Cry Differently, and The Girl Who Sees Smells.[13]

In 2013, Kim became the MC of MBC‘s music program Music Core along with co-MC Minho of Shinee and Noh Hong-chul.[14] She left in 2015 to focus on her drama Who Are You: School 2015.[15]

She played the main lead in KBS‘s school series in Who Are You: School 2015, as twins Lee Eun-bi and Go Eun-byul.[16] Kim received a triple crown at the KBS Drama Awardsfor the dual role.

In 2016, she starred in a romance movie called Pure Love as Jung Soo-ok, the girl who dreamed of becoming a radio DJ. The move co-starred EXO‘s Do Kyung-soo.[17] She also starred in the mystery-school web drama Nightmare Teacher with BTOB‘s Minhyuk,[18] and the romantic comedy drama special Page Turner with Ji Soo and Shin Jae-ha.[19]Kim also learned some action moves for her drama Hey Ghost, Let’s Fight.
